Frequently Asked Questions

What Should I Bring To My Bridal Appointment?

When Should I Start Shopping For My Wedding Dress?

What Should I Bring To My Bridal Appointment?

You’ll want to bring a few key things to make the day perfect:

1. Be sure to bring along the people whose opinions matter most to you, whether that’s your mom, best friend, or maid of honor—they’ll help you feel supported and excited!

2. Don’t forget a strapless bra to make trying on dresses easier, and if you’re planning to wear any shapewear on the big day, bring that too!

3. It’s a great idea to create a Pinterest board full of inspiration pictures to share with your stylist, so they can get a sense of your style and help you find the perfect dress. You're going to look AMAZING!

What Is My Bridal Dress Size?

When Should I Start Shopping For My Wedding Dress?

What Should I Bring To My Bridal Appointment?

Great question! Bridal sizes can vary quite a bit by designer, but as a general rule, your bridal size will usually be about 2 sizes above your usual pant size. So, if you're typically a size 10 in jeans, you’ll likely need a size 12-14 in bridal. But don’t stress—when you say “yes” to your dress, we’ll take your measurements and make sure we order the right size based on the designer's specific recommendations, so you’ll have the perfect size to alter for the perfect fit!

When Should I Start Shopping For My Wedding Dress?

It’s best to start shopping for your wedding dress about 9-12 months before your wedding date. Wedding dresses are made to order, so they can take anywhere from 5-8 months to be created and delivered to the store. You’ll also want to leave 6-8 weeks for alterations to get your dress fitted perfectly to you. That said, if your timeline is shorter, no need to stress! We carry off-the-rack dresses that you can take home the same day, and we also work with designers who offer quick-ship programs, meaning your dress can arrive much sooner. Whatever your timeline is, we’ll work with you to help you find your dream dress with no stress!

We don’t do alterations in-house, but don’t worry! We have some amazing local seamstresses that we highly recommend to our brides. They are incredibly talented and specialize in bridal alterations, so you’re in great hands. Just keep in mind that alterations are a separate cost outside of the dress. Once your dress arrives in the correct size, you’ll take it to one of our trusted alteration specialists to get it fitted perfectly to you!
